Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has announced the immediate release of N10m to the victims of last Thursday’s petrol tanker fire, which rocked the Apata area of Ibadan.

He made this announcement on Tuesday during his visit to the scene to sympathise with the traders who lost their property.

Makinde, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Adisa, said the palliative would provide immediate succour to the victims.

“This is unfortunate, but as a government of the people, we will do everything within our power to ensure that we provide relief for them.

“I have just asked that an immediate relief of N10m be given to them at least to have something for this holiday while we look at the list and extent of the losses here,” the governor was quoted as saying.

The statement said Makinde led other top government officials to inspect the scene of the incident.
