The Governing Council of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti has approved the promotion of 333 members of staff across academic and non-teaching sections.

FUOYE management team led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Abayomi Fasina, had recommended the list of qualified academic and non academic staff members to the Council in compliance with the university regulations after thorough scrutiny by relevant committees.

The Special Adviser to the VC on Media, Wole Balogun, said in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Saturday titled, ‘Jubilation in FUOYE as management rolls out list of 333 newly promoted staff” that the development came barely nine months after 429 staff members were promoted.

Balogun, who said that the promotions were effective from October 1, 2022, said, “With this, the number of promoted staff members since Prof. Fasina resumed office on February 11, 2021 has risen to 762. This is a clear fulfillment of the promises of the VC to ensure that staff welfare and well being are guaranteed during under his watch.”

He stated that the beneficiaries in the new promotion included 10 who were promoted to full professorial cadre, 22 to associate professorial cadre, 18 to senior lecturer’s rank, 14 as lecturer I and 22 promoted to lecturer II.

According to him, beneficiaries in the promotions in the non-teaching section included three to Deputy Registrar level, two to Deputy Bursar and four to Deputy Directors’ rank.
