In a statement released by him, the Distinguished Senator said that he saw the confirmation coming on the heels of the recent reforms introduced by the CJN in his just few months in an acting capacity- a reflection of the hard-working nature of the people from his constituency .

The statement :
“I couldn’t be any prouder today- 21st September, when the Senate plenary confirmed the then Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria.

My joy knows no bounds that a worthy constituent of Oyo North is elevated to the exalted position of Chief Justice of Nigeria. This is a big deal for our people in Iseyin where the new CJN hails from, Oke Ogun geopolitical zone, Oyo North senatorial district, Oyo state and South western Nigeria as a whole.

Within the few months Hon. Justice Ariwoola held saddle as the Acting CJN, a lot of reforms were initiated that have further enriched our judicial process, hence I had no doubt that he would be eventually confirmed by the senate.

This confirmation has further confirmed the brilliance and hard working nature of the people of Oyo North. It is my belief that the tenure of the new CJN will birth many positive innovation that will perfect our judicial system.

I therefore on behalf of the entire people of Oyo North Senatorial District congratulate our fellow constituent and compatriot, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola for this outstanding achievement and wish him all the best as he leads the judiciary forthwith.

My admonition is to all and sundry in Oyo North to keep the CJN in prayers so as to succeed in the enormous assignment before him.”
