The Lagos State Judicial Service Commission on Tuesday swore in six newly appointed presidents and 37 members of customary courts.

He said, “As you adjudicate cases assigned to you, don’t go near corruption because it will not be tolerated. If you are not careful, people will push you to corruption but don’t try to please anyone to the detriment of your job most importantly, the fear of God should be your watchword in all your dealings.”

On his part, the state Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN, admonished the new appointees to, in the course of dispensing their duties, treat everybody that comes to their courts with respect.

He said, “You have been sworn in today to help Lagos State Government to solve judicial problems, do not become the problem yourself. You must carry yourselves with respect, you must also respect everybody who comes to your court, you must be courteous to everybody and also in exercising your functions especially presidents carry your members along.”

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Judicial Service Commission, Mrs Bukola Salami, in her welcome address said the ceremony symbolises another milestone and bold step in the commitment of the Lagos State government to enhance the lives of people at the grassroots through a justice administration system that is quick and fair.
