The Corps Commander, Ekiti State Amotekun Corps, Brig.-Gen. Joe Komolafe (retd), has urged well-meaning people in the state and in the diaspora to invest more in the security outfit, to rid the state of crime.

Komolafe, who said the state remained among the safest in the country, tasked Ekiti residents to expose criminal elements in the society.

The commander, who spoke in Ado Ekiti on Friday, on the activities of the security outfit in its two years of establishment, said, “Amotekun operatives have arrested no fewer than 243 suspects ranging from kidnapping, robbery, burglary, cultism, rape, human trafficking to drug-related offences and perpetrators of farmers/herders clashes”.

Komolafe, who attributed the corp’s success to the efforts put in place by Governor Kayode Fayemi and other sister security networks in the state, and as well people’s support, said the crime rate had reduced to the barest minimum in the state.

The Amotekun boss urged residents to play their part in the fight against crime by reporting any suspicious movements or untoward activities in their areas to the security agencies and assisting the outfit with financial resources to ease the burden on the government.
