A group of students of Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, has distributed learning materials to four primary schools in the community.
The gesture, said to be part of a class project titled, ‘Education for all, lending a helping hand to humanity,’ was meant to encourage students to lend a helping hand to humanity by identifying certain social situations and providing solutions to them.
Speaking during a visit to the benefiting schools, Atidade Nomadic Primary School,
Seventh Day Adventist Primary School, Ebenezer Primary School and Baptist Practicing A&B Primary School, all located in Ede, the lecturer-in-charge, Peter Innocent, said the materials distributed include; school bags, books, pens, and water bottles among others.
He said students were out to lend a helping hand to the less privileged in society, adding that “it is a project to encourage our students to lend a helping hand to humanity by identifying certain social situations and providing solutions to them.
“Education is the key and information is power and if education is to be done there are certain materials that will encourage students to participate under good conditions.
“We noticed that some of these materials are lacking and some of the pupils are coming to schools with nylon bags. We are here to give them educational materials, learning materials, writing materials, and stationery.
The reason for sowing in public schools is to meet those who need help.”
