Following their impressive performance at the recently concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the Super Eagles have climbed 14 places in the latest FIFA rankings. Despite losing to Cote d’Ivoire in the final, Nigeria’s standout display has propelled them up the ladder, now ranking 28th globally.

Côte d’Ivoire, the tournament champions, also saw a significant rise, moving up 10 spots to 39th position. Angola, the biggest climbers in the rankings, surged 24 places to 93rd after their quarter-final clash with Nigeria.
