Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has instructed security agencies to investigate the tragic killing of two traditional rulers in the state.
The victims, Oba David Ogunsakin and Oba Olatunde Olusola, were fatally attacked by suspected kidnappers on their way back from a meeting in Irele-Ekiti.
Governor Oyebanji, condemning the heinous act, assured that security agents have been deployed to the area to apprehend the perpetrators. This directive came shortly after he presided over a state security council meeting in Ado-Ekiti, just an hour before the incident occurred.
Expressing condolences, the governor conveyed the sympathies of the Government and people of Ekiti State to the affected communities of Imojo Ekiti and Esun Ekiti.
Despite the tragic incident, he urged residents to remain calm and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
Emphasizing a commitment to justice, Oyebanji charged security agencies in the state to stay vigilant and persistent in their efforts to eliminate crime and criminality.
