An abducted 100-level student of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, has regained freedom. Moyosore Bright, a Zoology Department student, was kidnapped at 2 pm on Friday but found herself in a bush, away from Ilorin metropolis, at 7 pm the same day.
She had boarded a minibus, known as “Korope,” at the school terminus on the main campus with other students, intending to reach her hostel in the Tanke area near the institution.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, stated on Sunday that Moyosore had to find her way back to Ilorin when she regained consciousness in the bush.
The police spokesperson mentioned no signs of violence on the victim, but personal items like a gold chain, ATM cards, and N3,000 were stolen.
Investigations are ongoing to track down the culprits responsible for the abduction. The Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya, reassures the public of the command’s commitment to combating crimes and ensuring a secure environment in Kwara.
