Blessing Adeniran, the mother of the late Whitney Adeniran, a 12-year-old Chrisland student who tragically passed away on February 9th, provided crucial testimony at the Lagos High Court. During her testimony, Blessing revealed that her daughter did not participate in sports on the mentioned day. She expressed growing concern, prompting her to search for Whitney, leading to the discovery of her lifeless body at Agege Central Hospital.
Under cross-examination, Blessing delved into a prior incident on January 20, 2023, when her daughter fell ill. She recounted receiving a call from the school principal, alerting her to Whitney’s difficulty breathing.
Her husband took Whitney to the hospital, and when Blessing arrived, she found her daughter seemingly fine.
The doctor suggested mild anxiety due to upcoming exams, but the Adenirans explained it was related to the inter-house sports event.
Responding to questions about prescribed medication, Blessing admitted not investigating the drugs, remaining unaware of their potential toxicity.
The court also learned about a Snapchat group discussing Whitney’s electrocution, discovered when Blessing’s husband examined Whitney’s phone on February 11, 2023. The cross-examination is set to continue on January 25th.
