Ibadan Explosion Displaces Former Deputy Governor Oladokun and Notable Residents

Former Oyo State deputy governor, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, is among those displaced due to an explosion in Ibadan. Oladokun, who served from 1999–2003, deputised Governor Lam Ona-Olapo Adesina.

A close associate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he’s currently accommodated by a relative, his residence near Dejo Oyelese Street affected.

The former Attorney General of the Federation, late Chief Bola Ige’s house, about 600 meters away, also experienced damage, with shattered windows reported. Popular residents affected include Oba Kola Adegbola, Comrade Kunle Famoriyo, actress Bimbo Osin, and more along Wole Oyelese Street.

The Oyo State Police Command confirmed the explosion, ongoing rescue efforts. Security service chiefs and fire operatives deployed by the governor to manage the aftermath.

Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal visited the scene, and Nigerians await details on the explosion’s cause.
