President Bola Tinubu held a critical meeting with top security officials, including service chiefs and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, at the State House in Abuja.
The gathering, addressing escalating terrorism, kidnapping, and killings nationwide, involved service chiefs such as General Christopher Musa, Lt-General Taoreed Lagbaja, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, and Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla.
The meeting began after the service chiefs arrived and waited for the President, who joined them after an engagement outside the State House. With the National Security Adviser in attendance, the session aimed to strategize against the rising security challenges across the country.
Simultaneously, on January 15, 2024, Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, convened a crucial meeting with the Force Management Team and Tactical Squads.
The focus was to address mounting concerns about insecurity, with the IGP expressing deep concern over recent abductions in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He emphasized the urgent need for decisive action to curb such heinous crimes.
