The President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, extends appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his crucial support in the initiation of diesel and aviation fuel production at the Dangote refinery.
Dangote, in a statement on Saturday, credited Tinubu’s encouragement and advice for being instrumental in bringing the project to fruition.
“We thank President Bola Tinubu for his support and for making our dream come true. This production, as witnessed today, would not have been possible without his visionary leadership and prompt attention to detail,” he expressed.
Dangote also expressed gratitude to the Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and Nigerians for their steadfast support and belief in the historic project.
“We also thank the NNPC, NUPRC, and NMDPRA for their support. These organizations have been our dependable partners in this historic journey. We also thank Nigerians for their belief and support in this project.
We have started the production of diesel and aviation fuel, and the products will be in the market within this month once we receive regulatory approvals,” Dangote added.
The facility initiated production on Friday, and Dangote marked the occasion as a “big day for Nigeria.” He emphasized the significance of reaching this milestone, describing it as an important achievement for the country that showcases its ability to develop and deliver large capital projects.
“This is a game-changer for our country, and I am very fulfilled with the actualization of this project.”
Dangote extended thanks to the bankers, financiers, and the government of Lagos State, led by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for their proactive efforts in resolving challenges encountered during the project.
He also expressed appreciation to host communities and their Traditional leaders for their patience and willingness to collaborate.
“Our staff have also contributed immensely to the success of this project. I thank them profusely.”
