Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has handed over 100 patrol vehicles to various security agencies in the state. The benefiting agencies include the Police, Army, Customs, Correctional Service, Immigration, Operation Burst, Amotekun, NDLEA, and OYRTMA.
Makinde emphasized the state government’s commitment to enhancing the duties and operations of security agencies. This commitment recognizes their interventions and efforts to keep the state secure.
He urged the security chiefs to remain resolute in identifying and dealing with criminals. Additionally, Makinde encouraged them to communicate their welfare concerns for prompt attention.
Speaking on behalf of the Governor, Mr Fatai Owoseni, the Special Adviser on Security, highlighted the substantial intervention of the Makinde administration in security.
He noted that this intervention has reduced response time and enhanced the visibility of security agencies across the state.
Owoseni tasked service commanders with ensuring efficient utilization of the security infrastructure provided by the state government.
Addressing the security chiefs, state Commissioner of Police, Mr Adebola Hamzat, expressed awe at the government’s prompt distribution of vehicles shortly after providing pickup vans.
Hamzat assured that security agencies would effectively use the vehicles to guarantee security across the state.
The event witnessed the presence of the leadership and personnel of the various security agencies.
This initiative aims to strengthen collaboration and improve the overall security landscape in Oyo State.
