Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde is set to mark his birthday differently this year, opting for a celebration at the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub in Oyo village.
The event, scheduled for the night of December 24th and the morning of December 25th, 2023, will take place at the hub located on the Oyo-Iseyin expressway.
Previously, the governor celebrated birthdays at the Oyo State Agricultural Development Project premises, but this year’s choice highlights the significance of Fasola Farms’ transformation under his administration.
In his weekly newsletter, Governor Makinde expressed his commitment to people-centered policies and reflected on the upcoming year as an opportunity for economic stability through prudent budget allocation.
“The month of December is generally a time for reflection as we make plans towards the new year. It is a time for me to reflect again on why I chose to get into politics,” wrote the governor.
“It has always been about serving humanity and moving as many people as possible in Oyo State from poverty into prosperity.
This has remained a mantra for our administration since 2019 as we pursued people-centered policies and programs.”
“True, sometimes we make plans, and they do not work out exactly as envisaged, but in general, we try to do what is right for our people and make amends where necessary to stick to this goal.
2024 presents another opportunity for us to use our budget to create economic stability for our people. As I have always maintained, handouts and palliatives are good, but sustainable development is far more important,” he added.
