The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have reportedly suspended the ongoing strike following intervention from the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The decision was reached after a meeting lasting close to an hour, where various affiliates and state chapters reviewed the outcome of talks between organized labor leaders and Ribadu.
The National Deputy Vice-President of TUC, Tommy Etim, expressed trust in Ribadu’s assurances, stating, “We did this based on our trust for the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, who gave us his words.”
The suspension comes after a meeting with Ribadu and the Minister of Labour, Simon Lalong. The National Security Adviser announced the arrest of those responsible for the assault on Ajaero.
