A popular market in Lagos State, Ladipo Plank Market, faced a devastating midnight inferno that resulted in the destruction of goods and property.

The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, confirmed that, fortunately, no lives were lost in the incident.

Oke-Osanyitolu stated, “The agency responded to distress calls and arrived at the above scene of the incident to discover that the plank market was being gutted by fire.

Fortunately, there is no loss of life. However, goods and property yet to be enumerated have been destroyed due to the inferno.”

As of 6 am, officials from LASEMA, the Lagos State Fire Service, and the Federal Fire Service are actively engaged in efforts to control and extinguish the fire.

The situation is still developing, and updates will be provided as emergency services work to manage the aftermath of the devastating blaze.
