The Federal Government has commenced the disbursement of the N35,000 wage award for federal civil servants under the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure.
Reports confirm that certain civil servants have received credit alerts, with individuals indicating receipt for the month of September.
However, expectations linger for subsequent alerts covering October, as President Bola Tinubu approved the provisional wage award for a six-month period.
This decision emerged following discussions between government representatives and leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress, aiming to prevent a nationwide strike protesting subsidy removal.
Moreover, on Monday, the Federal Executive Council approved a supplementary budget of N2.12 trillion.
This allocation is intended to facilitate appropriate budgetary measures and ensure the smooth implementation of the wage award.
