Atiku Abubakar is scheduled to address a press conference today, revealing insights from his legal team’s examination of President Bola Tinubu’s academic records recently disclosed by Chicago State University.
The records, released in compliance with a court ruling by Magistrate Jeffrey Gilbert on September 19, prompted Atiku’s request. However, Tinubu filed for a review of the order, with his legal team asserting that the documents are irrelevant to Atiku’s appeal against Tinubu at the Supreme Court.
The CSU documents confirmed Tinubu’s attendance at the university, responding to Atiku’s four requests. Despite this, the Presidency, represented by Senior Special Assistant Temitope Ajayi, insists that the academic records vindicate Tinubu, emphasizing that the CSU did not state the presented certificate was forged.
Today, Atiku plans to file an application at the Supreme Court, incorporating the obtained CSU documents into his election appeal.
The legal intricacies continue to unfold in the aftermath of the presidential election, where Atiku contested against Tinubu on the Peoples Democratic Party platform. The courtroom drama remains a focal point as both parties navigate the complexities of the court’s decisions.
