The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has announced his intention to offer prayers for the Bola Tinubu-led administration during his upcoming seclusion at the Olojo festival. He also expressed his intent to pray for an improvement in the current challenges faced by the country, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and economic hardships.
Oba Ogunwusi explained that he would utilize this period to pray for African unity and the realization of Pan-Africanism, emphasizing the need for the continent to speak in unity.
He emphasized the necessity for spiritual intervention in Nigeria’s current economic downturn and stated that his prayer would be directed toward finding solutions.
The Ooni mentioned the high expectations people have for the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the need for divine intervention.
Furthermore, he called on stakeholders in Africa to prioritize the unity of the continent and maintain behavior that promotes pan-Africanism.
The Olojo festival is a significant cultural event in Ile-Ife, celebrated annually in October. It is dedicated to Ogun, the god of iron, and involves elaborate ritual prayers led by the Ooni. The festival is known for its carnival-like atmosphere and is considered a blessed day by the Yoruba people.
