The Ondo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended one of its ward chairmen, Mr. Olumide Awolumate, for allegedly assaulting the state Commissioner for Woman Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Juliana Osadahun.
The incident occurred during an oil subsidy removal palliatives distribution event in Arigidi Akoko. The state APC chairman, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, expressed strong disapproval of the attack and announced the suspension of Awolumate, emphasizing the party’s commitment to respecting women.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Asabi Abiodun, has ordered an investigation into the incident, while the Deputy Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Oluwatosin Ajirotutu, called for the arrest and prosecution of the APC chieftain involved.
