The award is conferred to reward exceptional and outstanding achievements by an individual or organisation that has been a champion or defender of Human Rights, and consistent with International Human Rights Law.
The event which was held at the International Conference Centre Abuja , was filled with glitz and glamour as well meaning individuals from all walks of life gather to witness the award ceremony of individuals who fight for the rights of the subjugated and downtrodden.

The Humanitarian Service Award was given to 25 selected individuals from all walks of life. Other awardees include Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Imo state Governor; Hope Uzodinma, among others.

Speaking at the event, the Director of Mission, International Human Rights Nigeria, Amb Dr. Duru Hezikiah said the way forward to curb insurgency is through dialogue and not conflicts. Dr. Duru urged everyone to put down their arms and ammunition and embrace peace as only peace can move the world forward.

In his appreciation remarks, the Chairman of Sure Etiquette Media Plus, Alhaji Dr Oriyomi Hamzat said the award serves as a call to improve service and to do more for the voiceless and underreported.

It gladdens my heart when International Human Rights singled me out of a million people all the way from Ibadan. That local boy from Ibadan receives the International Service Award.

” This is a conviction that hard work will be appreciated and rewarded.” I appreciate this award. Before now, I didn’t know that hard work could be rewarded. I use to think awards like this have to do with connections and knowing people. How much can you buy the hearts of people to give you what you don’t deserve? For that reason I never thought I’d ever receive such an award because I cannot buy people’s hearts against their wishes. But today, the oriyomi Hamzat , that local Ibadan man got an invitation from the International Human Rights to be honoured with an award in Abuja International Conference Centre.”

He ended his address by appreciating God for the strength to do much for humanity. He extended his appreciation to the members of staff at Agidigbo FM, and all his supporters.” I return all the glory to God, the owner of the weak and the strong.

” I appreciate you all, my Agidigbo people, my silent watchers who call me to order, and all Nigerians who support our work. One with God is a majority.”

The awardees were congratulated and admonished not to relent in their endeavours and also to see the award as a call to higher service and commitment to humanity.
