President Tinubu Urges Swift Resolution of Nigeria-UAE Disagreements

President Bola Tinubu has called for an urgent resolution to the ongoing disputes between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), affecting issues such as Emirates Airlines and visa issuance. He emphasized that African countries should seek internal solutions to economic and security challenges and fulfill their pledges.

During a reception of envoys’ Letters of Credence at the State House, Tinubu held discussions with the Ambassadors of Ethiopia, Cuba, and UAE. He highlighted the importance of African nations working collaboratively for progress and emphasized the value of home-grown solutions.

Tinubu assured the Ethiopian Ambassador of Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening ties in trade, security, and economic growth. He commended Cuba’s achievements in medical sciences and accessible healthcare, proposing collaboration in areas like science and technology.

In discussions with the UAE Ambassador, President Tinubu stressed the need for prompt resolution of issues affecting Emirates Airline and visa processing. He likened the nations’ relationship to a family and expressed readiness to intervene personally for a harmonious resolution.

The UAE Ambassador acknowledged Nigeria’s historical leadership in Africa and expressed gratitude for the hospitality he has received. He disclosed progress in working on various agreements between the two nations and conveyed his desire to be considered part of Nigeria’s team.

This dialogue reflects President Tinubu’s efforts to foster cooperation and amicable solutions among nations while focusing on the advancement of the African continent.
