These were part of the decisions of the Oyo State Executive Council (ExCo) during its inaugural meeting on Tuesday, in Ibadan, the state capital.

A post on the state government verified official social media accounts read: “The Oyo State Executive Council (ExCo) held its inaugural meeting today and approved the following:

“The procurement of 105 units of Kia vehicles for security operatives in all 33 LGAs of the state at the cost of N3.35 billion. These additional vehicles will further boost the response time of security operatives in the state.

“Payment of a backlog of operations and maintenance payments (from January 2020 till date) for Light-up-Oyo project at N3.19 billion. This covers the cost of replacing cables, poles and fittings that were deemed working before they were vandalised or destroyed. Note that this excludes diesel costs which are borne by the contractor not the OYSG.”
