WYD: The Future Is In Your Hands — Reps’ Member, Odidi Omo, Tells Youth

Hon. (Alh.) Dhikurilah Stanley Adedeji Olajide (Odidiomo), a federal lawmaker representing Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency has charged the youth to imbibe and practice all-around discipline to achieve their dreams and goals of success.

Odidi Omo, who is the Chairman, House Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity gave the charge in his message to youth on World Youth Day.
The outspoken Oyo federal lawmaker advised the youth to embrace emerging trends in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to equip themselves for the challenges of the 21st Century.
” As we celebrate World Youth Day, let’s embark on a journey of empowerment and responsibility in the digital age. Our world is interconnected like never before, and the power of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is undeniable. It offers us boundless opportunities to create, connect, and innovate. However, with great power comes great responsibility.
” In the vast landscape of technology, let’s choose the path of ethical exploration and growth. Cybercrime might seem alluring, but its consequences are far-reaching and detrimental, causing harm to individuals, organizations, and society as a whole. Instead, let’s channel our energy into becoming the guardians of the digital realm by embracing Cybersecurity.

” Imagine a world where you are the defenders of digital landscapes, where you unravel the complexities of code, algorithms, and networks to ensure safety and privacy for all. By pursuing careers in Cybersecurity, you’ll not only safeguard critical information but also contribute to shaping a safer and more secure digital future.

” Equip yourselves with knowledge, skills, and a strong ethical compass. Learn about encryption, network security, ethical hacking, and risk management. Embrace the challenge of staying one step ahead of cyber threats, and let your innovative spirit shine as you devise solutions to protect digital ecosystems.

” Remember, the world needs your brilliance to create a harmonious balance between innovation and security. Choose the path that will uplift you, empower others, and make the world a better place. By choosing ethical tech and Cybersecurity, you are not only securing networks but also nurturing trust and enabling progress.

” So, on this World Youth Day, let’s unite in our commitment to using technology for good. Embrace the limitless potential of ICT, and let your passion for Cybersecurity drive positive change. Together, we can build a digital world that thrives on innovation, compassion, and integrity”, Odidi Omo stated.

Odidi Omo in his message to the youth also added that the future is in their hands and thereafter urged them to shape it wisely.
