This enlightenment meeting was held yesterday, Thursday, September 4, at Otu Town Hall, headquarters of the local government on the necessity of registering for, and collecting their voters cards during the ongoing continuous voter registration (CVR,) programme of INEC.

This, according to insider sources, is just one among other issues of interest to majority of party members which were also discussed as possible challenges to the party’s performance as the 2027 general election approaches, considering the current fragmentation, disunity in the party, versus the current strength of the ruling party in the Local Government.

As a result, the party arrived at a nine-point resolution agreed to by all members present from across all the wards in the Local Government and duly endorsed by the leaders listed in the communique issued at the end of deliberations. The Communique, as made available to dejoymedia.online, Thursday night:

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED BY THE AJUMOSE ITESIWAJU LG FORUM AT THE END ITS SENSITISATION/ UNIFICATION MEETING HELD TODAY- THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2025 AT OTU.

1. That we the undersigned ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS PARTY members on behalf of all ordinary party members met today at Otu Town Hall to declare our unwavering support for the second term project of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

2.That we also congratulate H.E, Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 59th birthday and pray for renewed strength as he supports Mr President in accomplishing the Renewed Hope Agenda.

3. That we stand in UNITY while making this declaration of support for Mr President and resolved to eschew all divisive/factional tendencies within the party, particularly along the political ambitions of certain individuals from within and outside the local government.

4. That all these tendencies have agreed to desolve into one indivisible entity capable of winning elections for the party in Itesiwaju Local Government come 2027.

5. That we embarked on this unification exercise leveraging on the need to sensitise party members towards enlightening voters on the need to register, review, replace their voters cards across the ten wards of the local government.

6. That a committee headed by Hon Kehinde Oyetoro is hereby empanelled to anchor the campaign.

7. That party members are assured of their constitutional freedom of supporting any Aspirant of their choice without causing any deep-rooted division within the party and which may cause defeat for the party in general elections

8.That the party’s Exco in the Local Government is to be adequately guided and strengthened in putting the APC ITESIWAJU FIRST, and being fair in its dealings with all members, while ensuring fair access/attention to all aspirants from within and outside the local government seeking support of members as delegates, or voters.

9.That we noted with profound appreciation Distinguished Sen Buhari’s gesture at immortalising the late State party Chairman- Hon Isaac Omodewu by constructing boreholes/school buildings in his name.

10. That this ten-point declaration is made in good faith so as to be able to jointly, in unity, confront the apparent electoral threats posed by the opposition as we approach 2027 general elections.

E-signed:

1. Barr Leke Oladeji – Legal Practitioner, (Ward 4, Komu)

2. Hon. (Alh) Dejo Adebisi, Former SSA Media, to Gov Ajimobi (Ward 10, Ipapo)
