IBISE COMMUNITY OF KOMU ON TENTERHOOKS OVER VACANT ONIBISE STOOL: As Groups Disown Oloyede’s Claim

There seems to be no end in sight to the controversy generated by the self- proclamation of one Tajudeen Oloyede as having been purportedly nominated the next ONIBISE of KOMU in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State, as groups, led by the mainstream Agbosoye Ruling Family denied ever “defending” him as falsely claimed through an online publication (not dejoymedia.online).

Through series of Statements from the mainstream Agbosoye Ruling Family, headed by Pa (Prince) Abraham Oyewola Adeleke, the IBISE Descendants Association, as well as her Youth Wing, the trio dismissed the publicised claim by the member in question, coming from the “breakaway” Agbosoye Ariina Family, while urging members of the public to do same.

Emphasising in unison that no such endorsement came from them and as such, no successor yet to the Onibise stool, has been nominated. They declared that whenever the nomination takes place it’s definitely going to be from Folarin Ruling House in accordance with the laid down principle of rotational successions.

Full texts: “The attention of the general public is hereby drawn to the latest publication on the above subject being circulated on social media by Prince Tajudeen Oloyede of Agbosoye Ariina’s family as indicated.

The AGBOSOYE RULING FAMILY under the headship (BAALE) of Pa(PRINCE) ABRAHAM OYEWOLA ADELEKE wishes to disassociate ourselves from the said publication.

To put the record straight, we write to refute the allegations of our involvement at any stage of their meetings where they arrived at such a conclusion.

We also want to state as follows:

1. The mainstream Agbosoye Ruling Family is one indivisible Royal Family that includes many unit of families, including Ariina.

2. While we would not venture deep into what brought about the separation of a unit from the mainstream of Agbosoye Dynasty, we want to affirm that the breakaway unit, now Agbosoye Ariina, had ceased to be part of any of our statutory meetings some years back without any reason, and all efforts made to call them back proved abortive.

3. The activities of this self-acclaimed Agbosoye Ariina’s family purportedly headed by the duo of Mr. Amuda Ojelere Oke and Prince Wale Oyedeji as the Chairman and Secretary respectively are not known to us. Moreso that the Chairman mentioned here is from ILESAN COMMUNITY and has never been considered as a stakeholder in any of our meetings.

4. There was never a time we jointly met to discuss any issue relating to the vacant stool of ONIBISE, not to talk of defending his candidature as captioned in this publication.

5. The Joint Meeting of the two ONIBISE RULING FAMILIES of Komu held on Monday 3rd April, 2025 with the representatives of Local Government Officials, IBISE Committee and ONIBISE Chief-in-Council in attendance all in observer status was disrupted and called off immediately after the opening prayer because of the influx of strange faces and riotous stance of the breakaway Ariina family.

6. We wish to affirm that the main agenda of the said Joint meeting of the Ruling Families of April 3rd, 2025 centred on the formal transition of the Royal stool of ONIBISE to Folarin Ruling Family as a result of the demise of Oba Thomas OPOOLA OLAORE Folawiyo, Ariina Ill from Agbosoye Ruling Family. He reigned peacefully with a lot of developmental strides for twenty-five (25) years through the support of Folarin Ruling Family, sons and daughters of IBISE Community, Komu.

7. Based on the above, we of the mainstream of Agbosoye Ruling Family hereby restated our resolution that the demise of Oba Thomas Opoola OLAORE, Ariina III marked the end of an era that brought us to the rotational issue between the two families in line with our laid down custom.We therefore, once again rose and affirmed the supremacy of our age long custom of rotational of ONIBISE STOOL between AGBOSOYE RULING FAMILY, and FOLARIN RULING FAMILY of Komu in Itesiwaju Local Government Area and on that we formally directed Folarin Ruling Family to immediately commence the process of presenting candidate to fill the vacant stool of ONIBISE of KOMU with a promise to given them our full support.

“The IBISE DESCENDANTS ASSOCIATION, KOMU home and abroad under the Leadership of CHIEF PHILLIP OLARINRE OLADEJI is calling the attention of general public to the vexatious publication on the vacant stool of ONIBISE as captioned above and being circulated on social media by the author, Prince Tajudeen Oloyede Jadesola of Agbosoye Ariina family.

We are constrained to make the following submission in order to clear the ambiguity and thus make the record straight.

1. It was true that the Joint meeting of two ruling families of ONIBISE STOOL, KOMU, was scheduled to be held on Thursday, 3rd April 2025, with the following people in attendance as observers:
   *The Local Government representatives led by the Director of Administration & General Services.
   *Representative of Onibise Council-in-chiefs led by Odofin of IBISE, KOMU.
   *Three members of IBISE Descendants Association led by her chairman.
   *The men of Nigerian Police Force from Komu Divisional Police Headquarters
   *Director of State Security Services, Itesiwaju LGA.
   *Representative of CMB Dept.
2. The agenda of the meeting was to kick start the process of selecting new ONIBISE through the peaceful joint meeting of the two Ruling families and to be followed by a formal transition of vacant stool of ONIBISE to the Folarin Ruling House by the head of Agbosoye Ruling Family.
3. The meeting ended abruptly immediately after the opening prayer due to the commotion caused by the breakaway unit of Agbosoye Ruling Family named Agbosoye Ariina, which is alien to our compound.
   This they did by bringing in several non-natives from Oyo, Iseyin, Okeho, Ilero, and Otu into a meeting, which was called to be a family gathering.
4. As a community, we only have two recognised families, FAMILIES that have direct access to the throne of ONIBISE, Komu: Namely, Agbosoye Ruling Family and Folarin Ruling Family.
   This is as contained in the Oyo State Chieftaincy Declaration.
   The issue of Agbosoye Ariina is not known to our community.
5. We want to state her also that IBISE COMMUNITY is a distinct entity in KOMU with her authority covering every other unit under her jurisdictions, the Royal families inclusive
6. We also want to state without mincing words that the activities and attitude of the purported Agbosoye Ariina Family have been constituting a threatening posture to the peaceful co- existence in the community.
   This uncooperative attitude has led the community at her last Annual General meeting to disallow them from participating in the said meeting.
7. Please note that the community’s overall interest is to ensure that there is peace and tranquility in the community and is not supporting anyone as being rumored.
   The fact remains that the Agbosoye Ruling Family has taken their turn through the last Oba Thomas Opoola Olaore, Ariina III who was on the throne and reigned peacefully for twenty-five years with the support of all and sundries in the community.
   Now is the turn of FOLARIN Ruling Family to present a candidate to the vacant stool.
8. We hereby state categorically that henceforth, the community will no longer tolerate any act that is aimed at causing distraction on the peace move.
   We will strongly resist any unit of the community to involve in any move that can cause chaos or disorderliness or any act that they may want to implore to truncate the ongoing process of selecting a new ONIBISE for the Community.

“The Youths of the Community would have wanted to discard the publication with a wave of the hand for lack of substance and treated same as a mere ranting of a drowning person, but for record purpose, and as a vibrant organ of Ibise Community under the Leadership of Prince Akeem Ayanleke,we cannot, but to set the record straight.

We had an emergency meeting over the publication and resolved as follows:

1. We appreciate the wisdom and magnanimity of the entire members of IBISE Community on how they did contain what would have snowballed into a breakdown of law and order for the assault meted on the Community by the so called Agbosoye Ariina on 3rd April, 2025 the very day of thr peace meeting of two Royal families.
2. It is a pity that this self acclaimed Agbosoye Ariina family has never been part of what is going on in the community for years.
   They all live outside the community and never participate in the progress move going in the Community.
   How then can those that have abandoned their community for years would now come for enthronement after the demise of their kinsman, the immediate past ONIBISE Oba Thomas Opoola Olaore, Ariina 111.
3. We are very much aware that the ONIBISE RULING HOUSE in Komu consists of AGBOSOYE and Folarin Ruling Families.
   Besides these two families, any other segments or breakaways are unknown to us
4. It needs to be emphasized that
   the immediate past ONIBISE, late Oba Thomas Opoola Olaore, Ariina III was from Agbosoye Ruling Family. We gave him an unflinching support during his twenty-five years peaceful reign.
   Now, it is the turn of FOLARIN FAMILY to present a candidate to the vacant stool of ONIBISE according to the laid down custom and tradition.
5. Let it be known that the tactical introduction of the third Ruling family through the backdoor as been orchestrated by the duo of Prince Tajudeen Oloyede and Prince Wale Oyedeji is pronounced dead on arrival as the Youths in the Community will resist any move to cause disorderliness within the scope of the existing law.
6. We want to strongly advise Prince Tajudeen Oloyede and his co-horts to stop galavanting over the state on this fruitless and destructive journey that will not do them any good.
   They should rather seek peace with the rest members of the community.
7. The YOUTHS of Ibise Community in KOMU will not condone any act that is tantamount to causing a state of unrest in the ongoing process of selecting candidate to next ONIBISE stoolFolarin Ruling Family
8. In conclusion, we implore the so-called Agbosoye Ariina to please tread it softly and allow peace to reign
   It is the turn of the FOLARIN RULING FAMILY to present a candidate to the stool.
   They should allow a sleeping dog to lie.
