A political Movement which goes by the name “ITESIWAJU APC FOR BETTER MOVEMENT,” has absolved Hon Olabiyi of any wrongdoing as earlier alleged by a group and published by an online news outlet.
The group through a statement maintained that Hon. Kola Olabiyi who was a former member of the 7th National Assembly, and a financier of the party had in no way sabotaged nor destabilised the party by attending the party’s monthly meeting which took place at Okaka on Thursday February 27 2025, with the party’s Exco and other dignitaries in attendance.
The group, in a statement made available to dejoymedia.online counters an earlier one by a group within Okaka, when it states: “We have read a release in one online news medium by a faceless group who are always sponsored by destructive people to tarnish the integrity of our able leader, Hon Kola OLABIYI, FCA,” the statement read. “These people are always known for their political chicanery and mendaciousness when they are planning to work against the party organization and successes. Their plans are to destroy the APC and pitch tent with other political party as we have been hearing from reliable sources whenever they fail to realize their ambitions.”
“We praised the local government party chairman, Hon. Segun Oyewole, and other key party executives, including Hon. Tunde Ajekiigbe (Youth Leader) and Hon. Abigael Aremu (Party Secretary), and Mrs Abosede Ibikunle(Women Leader) for their commitment to party unity.” A scheduled monthly local government meeting took place on February 27, 2025, at Ayo Oluwa area in Okaka, as agreed by party leaders.
The meeting, chaired by Hon. Segun Oyewole, was attended by several notable figures, including Hon. Kola Olabiyi, Hon. Dele Akinleye (former state Secretary of AC), Hon. Akin Adeyemo, Com. Ojekunle Fabiyi, Mrs. Abosede Ibikunle (APC Itesiwaju Women Leader), and other party members.
The group alleged that “destructive elements” convened a parallel meeting along Ipapo Road, aiming to fulfill the agenda of undisclosed “paymasters.” They questioned who held the legitimate meeting, contrasting the gathering attended by Hon. Kola Olabiyi and party executives with the alleged meeting held with an “unknown vice chairman.”
“We started this monthly meeting with the financial, moral, and physical support of Honourable Kola OLABIYI, but those who joined us recently because of their ambitions were those trying to factionalize the party to actualize their evil plans. God forbid!” the statement said.
“Claims that certain leaders were sidelined were also false, asserting that none of the mentioned individuals had complained. They also stated that H.E. Debo Adesina, former ambassador to the Republic of Togo, was not consulted, as they believe he would not involve himself in party factionalization.
“They just want to drag these innocent people into their mess. As Yoruba adage says ‘Ajegbodo nweni kunra’,” the statement said. “We possess evidence of those “destabilizers and betrayals” and are “patiently waiting”, the statement concluded.
