Former Chairman, Board of Nigeria Communications Commission, and Oyo North Senatorial Seat hopeful, come 2027; Adeolu Akande has expressed his hearty felicitations to Muslims Umah worldwide, as they commence the holy month of Ramadan.
Professor Akande acknowledged the significance of this holy month – highlighting the importance of fasting as an act of worship, self-denial and a means of strengthening one’s faith by moving closer to Allah. He prays that Almighty Allah accepts the fasting and supplications of all observing Muslims as acts of Ibadah.
Furthermore, Professor Akande urged Muslims to imbibe the core lessons of Ramadan, including patience, selflessness, and compassion for others. He encouraged them to use this period to demonstrate virtues, such as generosity and kindness, not only in their personal lives but also towards their communities. He pointed out that Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food and drink but also about purifying the soul, strengthening relationships, and reinforcing moral and ethical values that contributes to a just and harmonious society.
As the country navigates various challenges, Professor Adeolu Akande called on Muslims to pray for tranquillity, unity, and harmony in the nation. He emphasized that Ramadan presents an opportunity for collective spiritual renewal and the pursuit of peace. He urged everyone to seek divine guidance for the progress and stability of the country, fostering a spirit of brotherhood and co-existence among all citizens.
