Buckingham Palace revealed that King Charles III, aged 75, has been diagnosed with cancer and has commenced treatment.

This news comes shortly after his recent discharge from the hospital following prostate surgery.

Prince Harry expressed his intentions to visit his father in light of the diagnosis, indicating a desire to offer support during this challenging time. His plans to travel to the UK were confirmed by a source close to him.

As the king navigates his health journey, Buckingham Palace announced his decision to temporarily postpone public duties.

However, Charles remains committed to fulfilling state obligations and official paperwork, albeit while prioritizing his health.

The announcement prompted an outpouring of support from well-wishers, including Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Labour Party leader Keir Starmer, who extended their wishes for Charles’s swift recovery.

This development further compounds the shortage of frontline royals within the family, following Catherine, Princess of Wales’s recent hospitalization and subsequent recovery from abdominal surgery.

Catherine’s absence, coupled with Prince William’s temporary withdrawal from engagements to care for their children, underscores the challenges faced by the royal household during this period.

Despite the setbacks, Queen Camilla has assumed a prominent role as the most visible face of the royal family in recent weeks. However, with Prince William expected to resume royal duties imminently, there is hope for continuity in fulfilling official engagements.
