Tinubu Assures Justice for Slain Ekiti Monarchs; Urges Swift Action on Kidnappings

President Bola Tinubu, currently in France on a private visit, has vowed that the perpetrators behind the killing of two traditional rulers in Ekiti State will not escape justice.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Tinubu strongly condemned the “mindless and brutal bloodletting” of the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Ogunsola. The two monarchs were tragically killed while returning from a meeting in Irele-Ekiti on Monday.

Tinubu’s spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, conveyed the President’s heartfelt condolences to the families and subjects of the traditional rulers, as well as to Governor Biodun Oyebanji and the people of Ekiti State for this “deeply agonizing development.”

The President, even from abroad, directs an immediate response to rescue pupils and teachers kidnapped around the Eporo-Ekiti area of the state.

Tinubu underscores the government’s primary responsibility for the security of life and property and assures Nigerians that the nation’s security architecture is being robustly fortified for better and expected outcomes.

This assurance comes amidst heightened concerns about security challenges, emphasizing Tinubu’s commitment to addressing the tragic events and reinforcing security measures for the well-being of the citizens.
