Former Chairman, Board of Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Adeolu Akande has extolled the progressive credentials of Chief Abdulkareem Bamidele Adebisi Akande, CFR, describing him as an iconic leader with untainted, pure and unbroken commitment to progressive democratic ideals.
In a statement personally signed by him and released to newsmen in Ibadan today, Tuesday, Adeolu states that;
“As a student, teacher and practitioner of progressive politics myself, I have followed, watched very closely the political voyage of this great Awoist, and therefore can boldly declare Baba Akande as a Pathfinder whose record of integrity, traditional wisdom, concistency, party loyalty and tenacious adherence to progressive ideals has recommended Baba to the upcoming generation of progressive politicians as legend worthy of emulation.
“His footprints right from his working career days as Manager, System and Computer Services at British Petroleum, to his foray into politics- Secretary to the then government of old Oyo state, and later Deputy Governor , Party Builder, Pioneer Civilian Governor and Architect of Modern Osun State, and ultimately as a universally reverred stateman remain indelible in the terrains of Nigeria political space.
