Today, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, is set to launch the inaugural online passport application portal in Abuja.
The minister previously disclosed this initiative during a demonstration session with the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Caroline Adepoju.
The online platform caters to both international and Nigerian applicants. In December, Tunji-Ojo announced the government’s efforts to fully automate the passport application system, revealing it to be 99% complete.
The process involves uploading photos and supporting documents, with fees ranging from N25,000 to N70,000 for Nigerian applicants and $130 to $230 for foreign applicants.
Applications can be submitted at [https://passport.immigration.gov.ng](https://passport.immigration.gov.ng). Dignitaries attending the event included Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Stephen Matete, Joe Abah, Tijjani Musa, and David Afolayan.
