Newly inaugurated Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, paid a condolence visit to the family of his late predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Akeredolu passed away on Wednesday after battling an illness, with Aiyedatiwa, his deputy, assuming leadership on the same day.
Hours after Akeredolu’s demise, Aiyedatiwa led a delegation comprising members of the State Executive Council and Ondo State House of Assembly to commiserate with the Akeredolu family. The visit took place at the Jericho residence of Akeredolu.
During the visit, Aiyedatiwa expressed the need for the condolence visit, emphasizing Akeredolu’s leadership qualities, courage, and the legacies he left behind during his six and a half to seven years of governance in Ondo State.
While condoling with the grieving family, Aiyedatiwa pledged to emulate Akeredolu’s values and continue with the legacies he established.
The Akeredolu family expressed gratitude for the visit, and prayers were offered for those mourning the loss, with Aiyedatiwa leading others to sign the condolence register.
