Agricultural stakeholders in Oyo state are urging farmers and herders to enhance collaboration for peaceful coexistence as the dry season approaches.
During an Agricultural Conference at the palace of Seriki Sasa in Ibadan, participants emphasized the historical roots of herder-farmer conflicts and the need for unity.
Hon. Gbenga Oyekola highlighted the state’s commitment to farmer welfare, citing the distribution of Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SAFER) items. Discussions also addressed security concerns, urging vigilance against intruders.
Various agricultural leaders called for unity, unbiased issue resolution, and modern approaches to coexistence. The program aimed at fostering dialogue was well attended.
