In a pivotal move, the Federal Government has issued a directive to the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Caroline Wura-Ola, emphasizing the urgent need to fortify security measures across the nation’s land, air, and water borders.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, highlighted the critical importance of deploying additional personnel to these borders for a more robust defense mechanism.

Tunji-Ojo made these statements during the decoration ceremony held in Abuja, where he not only underscored the imperative of border protection but also urged the newly appointed officers to prioritize the welfare of citizens seeking travel documents.

The minister emphasized that President Bola Tinubu, who approved the appointments, envisions a tenure marked by groundbreaking achievements, reshaping service delivery, reforming policies, and placing the welfare of Nigerian citizens at the forefront.

The directive aligns with this vision and underscores the commitment to transformative change within the Immigration Service.

With the decoration of Caroline Wura-Ola, she assumes the role of the 18th substantive Immigration CG, entrusted with the significant responsibility of implementing these crucial directives.

Alongside her, six deputy Comptroller-generals, namely DCG Usman Auna, DCG Babangida Usman, DCG Zainab Lawal, DCG Sadat Hassan, DCG Ijeoma Emenike, and DCG Kemi Nandap, were also decorated during the ceremony, symbolizing a comprehensive strengthening of leadership within the Nigerian Immigration Service.
