The Federal Government has recently made a commitment to implement measures aimed at curbing the influx of illegal immigrants into the country, emphasizing the paramount importance of enhancing national security.
During a meeting with Dasuki Arabi, the Director of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo underscored the urgency of putting an end to the entry of aliens using counterfeit travel documents.
Tunji-Ojo expressed a strong dedication to securing Nigeria’s borders, highlighting that the nation’s overall security is intricately linked to the effectiveness of border security measures.
He specifically addressed the prevalent issue of illegal aliens easily gaining access to the country, often relying on fraudulent travel documents.
Moreover, the Minister conveyed the Ministry’s preparedness to collaborate actively with the Bureau of Public Service Reforms.
This collaboration is aimed at developing and implementing effective solutions to the nation’s security challenges, with a particular focus on fortifying the security of the country’s borders.
In affirming his commitment to this collaboration, Tunji-Ojo stated, “I am ready to actively collaborate with the Bureau of Public Service Reforms to find solutions to our security challenges.”
