In response, the commission temporarily suspended its operations, although the visa application centers in Lagos and Abuja remained open.

According to a statement by Demilade Kosemani, a Public Affairs staff member of the commission, the investigation team comprises technical experts from Canada.

Their primary objective is to conduct a formal investigation, aiming to determine the factors and conditions that led to the explosion.

The statement, released on Tuesday, emphasized the collaborative efforts between the Canadian team and relevant Nigerian authorities in line with their respective mandates.

This development underscores the commitment to understanding and addressing the tragic incident, reflecting international cooperation in the pursuit of a thorough investigation.
