The Development Agenda for Western Nigeria Commission is dedicated to accelerating development in the South-West region.
The commission, led by Chairman Mr. Boye Ologbese, emphasizes the integrated transportation network project as a blueprint for regional development.
The proposed railway route, aiming to connect 44 cities, stands as a strategic effort to fast-track the economic development of the South-West.
Ologbese, who also serves as the Ondo State Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, articulates the commission’s commitment to addressing transportation challenges and enhancing mobility.
In a statement issued in Akure, Ondo State, his media aide, Mrs. Debbie Funmilayo, conveyed Ologbese’s perspective on the integral role of the proposed regional railway in fostering economic opportunities and easing the movement of people, goods, and services.
Ologbese commends Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for his notable efforts in enhancing security through initiatives like the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps) and advancing economic projects such as the Ondo Deep Sea Port.
He sees these endeavors as presenting significant opportunities for economic expansion and partnerships in the state and the South-West region.
Recognizing the crucial role of peace and security in regional economic integration, Ologbese calls for collective action among the South-West states’ focal representatives within the commission.
He emphasizes the need for harmonized efforts to optimize the commission’s mandate and ensure the region’s holistic development.
