President Bola Tinubu has taken a decisive step by preventing his son, Seyi, from participating in the weekly meetings of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in Abuja.

The FEC, presided over by the President, stands as the paramount decision-making body in the government.

Its members include the Vice President, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, ministers, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, and some top presidential aides.

During the opening of the recent council meeting, Tinubu expressed his concerns about individuals without legitimate reasons attending these crucial gatherings.

Notably, he mentioned his son, Seyi, having “undue access” and even cited a viral video where Seyi was observed sitting behind a cubicle during a council meeting. Tinubu firmly condemned such actions, deeming them unacceptable.

To address the issue, the President specified a select list of individuals permitted to attend the meetings.

This exclusive group included Hadiza Usman, the Special Adviser on Policy Coordination, Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the Principal Private Secretary, and Damilotun Aderemi, the Private Secretary.

Tinubu directed the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, to enforce his directive.

Emphasizing the need for strict adherence, Tinubu reiterated that only those granted explicit permission should have access to the FEC meetings.

This move reflects the President’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and exclusivity of these vital government sessions.
