Oyo State Government took decisive action on Monday, demolishing 359 unauthorized structures and shanties surrounding public primary and secondary schools in Ibadan.
The eviction notices were delivered directly to owners through school principals, ensuring acknowledgment.
The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, emphasized the government’s commitment to restoring order to school premises.
The affected schools, including IMG, Islamic Primary and Secondary Schools, and Government Technical College, were part of the targeted areas.
Commissioner Mogbonjubola warned against further occupation of school premises, citing adherence to state environmental laws as imperative.
