Breaking: DPO CSP JOHN ADIKWU, OTHERS SHOT DEAD IN OTUKPO BANKS ROBBERY

Dare -devil armed robbers on Friday in Otukpo, Benue State attacked five banks in a row – Access, First, Zenith, UBA, and Stanbic killing the Otukpo Divisional Police Officer and others during the brazen operation.

The attacks which took place at about 16:15hrs on Friday, was unsuccessfully repelled by the police teams in the area .

But with reinforcement from other security agencies, calm was restored to the area. Some of the robbers were killed and some apprehended.

Sadly however, according to the press release from the office of the state police public relations Officer, SP Anene Sewueze Chatherine, other three police officers, with the DPO were later confirmed dead at the hospital, while others who sustained injuries were receiving treatment.

Investigations, as ordered by the IGP are ongoing.
