ADEOLU AKANDE FOUNDATION has flagged off a five- million-naira interest- free loan for traders and artisans in Itesiwaju Local Government area of Oyo state, this is in fulfilment of an earlier promise made last December when he hosted them for Christmas/New year celebrations, an event that has become an annual ritual.
Speaking during the launch of the scheme on Friday in Otu, a Former Chairman of Itesiwaju local government, Mr Adeniji Adisa Olarinre enjoined the beneficiaries, who were selected from the ten wards of the Local Government area to make judicious use of the “revolving loan”.
According to him,” this is just the beginning. I urge you all to make good use of the fund and pay back for others to benefit “, he advised them to open accounts with the Ipapo Microfinance Bank, the financial institution where the total sum is domiciled , and through which the loan shall be redeemed.
Mr Adeniji lauded Professor Adeolu Akande for deeming it fit to support the struggles of his people towards coping with the current economic travails by providing the interest-free, revolving loan to enhance their enterprises.
Other Leaders from the LG and outside the LG who spoke along the same line further advised the political class not to wait until electioneering period before they can empower their people. While Pa. Amos Akande the Foundation’s Pillar and father to the Promoter- Prof Adeolu Akande Esq. thanked the people for their steadfastness, he urged parents particularly mothers not to allow the Yoruba language to go into extinct by speaking the language to their children.
The Leaders(from Itesiwaju LG), include, Chief Sakariyau (Baale Agbe), Chief Dejo Adebisi, former SSA Media to the late Gov. Ajimobi, Chief (Hon.) Niyi Adeagbo, former Chairman of Itesiwaju LG, Hons. Taofeek Ibrahim, (Barry White), Yinka Adepoju (Alaska), Alhaja Taofeek Ajarah and Party Chairman Sikiru Awoleye (Osu).
While those from other LGs include; Hon Elisha Ajewole, former Chairman/ Secretary, Atisbo LG, Hon. James Adekunle, former Chairman, Oluyole (Ibadan) LG, Hon. Olanrewaju Adesina,(Solution) former Chairman, Inukan LCDA, (Ona- Ara LG) , Hon. Ademola Solalu, former SA, Information and Orientation to Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of blessed memory.
The event had in attendance selected beneficiaries from all the wards in Itesiwaju Local Government area and leaders of All Progressives Congress APC, across all the wards in the LG.
