The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced an extension of the deadline for submissions and entries into the 2023 Talent Hunt through Hackathon. The new deadline is now September 30, allowing more startups to prepare their solutions and encouraging more technology entrepreneurs to participate in the competition.
This initiative, as described by Reuben Muoka, the Director of Public Affairs, aligns with NCC’s Strategic Vision Plan 2023–2025. It aims to foster sustainable economic growth and development in Nigeria by promoting the development of new technologies and indigenous content through cutting-edge research.
The NCC invites tech hubs and innovation-driven enterprises to enroll their startups and solutions in the third edition of the NCC Talent Hunt Research via a hackathon. The focus areas include blockchain-enabled data protection solutions, assistive technology for the elderly and people with disabilities, and technology solutions for renewable energy in rural areas.
The NCC Talent Hunt Research through Hackathon is designed to leverage emerging digital technologies, promote home-grown innovative solutions, and drive local content development in the telecommunications sector, ultimately contributing to economic growth and social progress in Nigeria.
