Lagos State Environment and Water Resources Commissioner, Tokunbo Wahab, has issued a stern call to residents, urging them to refrain from dumping waste in drainage channels.
During an inspection of ongoing drainage projects in the state, alongside Special Adviser Olakunle Rotimi-Akodu, Wahab emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing flooding issues and vowed to focus on clearing heavily obstructed drains.
He assured residents of the government’s dedication to constructing reliable infrastructure and requested patience for projects delayed by adverse weather conditions.
Wahab also highlighted the expedited completion of the Ilubirin mega pump station, aimed at alleviating flooding in central Lagos areas like Ojo Giwa, Oroyinyin, and Idumagbo.
