Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and his aides recently narrowly escaped a potential aircraft crash, as confirmed by the spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed. Rasheed suggested possible engine tampering as the cause.
The incident occurred on September 5 during takeoff from Lagos to Abuja. Rasheed emphasized that an internal investigation pointed towards sabotage, disputing claims of bird nests causing the problem.
He assured that the passengers were unharmed, with no outward explosion. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau initiated a thorough investigation.
NCAA’s Director General, Capt. Musa Nuhu, announced the investigation, with assurance from Mr. Festus Keyamo that findings would be implemented in accordance with aviation regulations and global standards.
