The Nigerian government plans to boost passport production to 24,000 daily after clearing a backlog of 200,000 passports.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, shared this goal during a visit by the UNODC. Over 97,000 backlogged passports have already been cleared, with a commitment to increase daily production to meet demand.
Additionally, the minister sought UNODC’s partnership in providing skills to correctional facility inmates, emphasizing the need for collaboration to prevent corruption and enhance inmate reformation.
