President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive to recall all career and non-career ambassadors from their international duty posts. This decision, as communicated by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, comes after a thorough assessment of the current state of Nigerian Consulate Offices and Embassies worldwide.
The directive emphasizes the President’s determination to instill world-class efficiency and quality in how foreign and domestic services are provided to citizens, residents, and prospective visitors.
Notably, the recall will not apply to Nigeria’s United Nations Permanent Representatives in New York and Geneva. This exemption is in light of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly scheduled for later this month.
