A Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Kingsley Obiora, is reportedly being held by the Department of State Services (DSS) for the fourth consecutive night. This detention is allegedly linked to financial mismanagement allegations during the tenure of suspended CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele.
President Bola Tinubu suspended Emefiele on June 9, citing ongoing investigations into the apex bank’s affairs and planned financial sector reforms. Emefiele was arrested the following day and has remained in DSS custody, despite being granted bail by the court.
Spokespersons for both the CBN and DSS have not responded to inquiries regarding this matter.
