The upcoming 2023/2024 academic session will see all basic schools, including nursery, primary, and secondary schools, across Lagos State resuming on September 4, 2023. This directive aligns with the officially approved 2023/2024 Harmonised Academic School Calendar by the Lagos State Ministry of Basic Education.

During a press briefing held in Alausa, Mrs. Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, Director General of the Office of Education Quality Assurance, emphasized the significance of adhering to the stipulated resumption date. She highlighted the essential role of this compliance in ensuring the consistent delivery of quality education across the state.

For convenient access to the harmonized school calendar, parents, school managements, and the public at large can utilize the agency’s official website. Seriki-Ayeni also underscored the importance of upholding the Lagos State Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy. This policy should be rigorously followed by proprietors and school administrators as preparations for the upcoming resumption are underway.

Amid these directives, the Director General emphasized the utmost importance of maintaining a safe learning environment. Stringent adherence to safety protocols on school premises is essential to create an atmosphere conducive to learning. The commitment of the state government to ensure the provision of quality education remains unwavering.

With these measures in place, the Lagos State Government aims to facilitate a smooth and secure transition into the upcoming academic session. This move reaffirms the government’s dedication to promoting education excellence and safeguarding the well-being of both students and educators.
